What's with the title?

So, what is up with the title of this blog? Well, I'll tell you to the best of my ability. For one, it just seemed to fit because it is what I was for Halloween many years as a child. Reason being, with a little imagination, one could easily and cheaply be a gypsy. It was the 80's. What can I say? A few bracelets, flowy clothes and you got yourself a costume. For me, it was just a fun character to play. Of course, I now see that the stereotype was likely complete garbage, but I never lost the the fascination with the gypsy myth and the curiosity about where it came from and what the truth was behind all this mystery surrounding them. I would still like to keep the fun, and yet politically incorrect, memories of the fall festival, please. :)

So, to me, grappling with the gypsy is just a way of expressing the notion of exploring the unknown, trying to demystify the mystery of the "gypsy." The "gypsy" being any question without an absolute answer, which is nearly everything in life, isn't it? I suppose I was also speaking of the gypsy within myself, within us all likely, that part of yourself you can't quite get your head around, but is a major, natural part of who you are. The part that is always searching and creating, and tends to provide you with the most excitement in life, and yet also the biggest threat to your own peace. For me, it's about finding some balance in the duality within myself, as well as the duality in the world in which we live. Somehow there is balance in the chaos. Yes, we can love both sushi and potted meat. I can love both Bettty Blue and Halloween part 155. Makes sense somehow, right?
